The Supply and Delivery of Hygiene and School Materials project, executed by Awtsaar Logistic and Consultancy Services on behalf of USAID AECOM, aimed to provide essential hygiene and school materials to communities in Kabul, Afghanistan. This report provides an overview of the project’s objectives, activities, achievements, challenges encountered, and the overall impact realized during its implementation from June 2020 to August 2020.

Objectives:

  1. To improve access to hygiene materials in Kabul communities, particularly amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
  2. To enhance educational opportunities by providing school materials to students in need.
  3. To support local businesses through procurement and supply contracts.
  4. To contribute to the well-being and development of vulnerable populations in Kabul.

Activities Undertaken:

  1. Needs Assessment: Conducted an assessment of the hygiene and educational needs of targeted communities in Kabul.
  2. Procurement: Procured a variety of hygiene materials such as soap, hand sanitizers, and face masks, as well as school materials including books, notebooks, and stationery items.
  3. Packaging and Distribution: Organized and packaged the materials into kits suitable for distribution. Coordinated with local authorities and community leaders for the safe and efficient distribution of the materials to targeted beneficiaries.
  4. Monitoring and Evaluation: Established a monitoring system to track the distribution process and ensure that materials reached intended recipients. Conducted periodic evaluations to assess the effectiveness of the project and gather feedback from beneficiaries.
  5. Capacity Building: Provided training sessions on proper hygiene practices and the importance of education to beneficiaries, focusing on sustainability and long-term impact.

Achievements:
